ShortMe is operated by MrChrissyServices Ltd. This policy explains how we handle information when you use shortme.xyz and the ShortMe mobile app.
Information we collect
We collect the account details you provide, including your email address and username. We store the links, QR codes, campaign details and settings you create. We also record service activity such as link visits, QR activity, IP address, browser or device information, and security logs.
Free accounts may see advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Google and its partners may process advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location and ad interactions, subject to the privacy choices shown in the app. Paid accounts do not receive these ads.
Google Play processes Android purchases. We receive product, purchase token, transaction status and subscription expiry information so that we can verify a purchase and apply the correct ShortMe plan. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
QR logo images
If you choose an image as a QR code logo, the app uploads a resized copy to ShortMe so that we can generate and store your QR design. This is optional; you can create QR codes without a logo. The logo is embedded in the QR image and can be viewed by anyone who can access or receive that image. Do not upload an image that you do not want to make public. The app uses the system image picker and does not request camera or microphone access for this feature.
How we use information
We use this information to provide and secure the service, operate links and QR codes, show account analytics, verify purchases, prevent fraud, answer support requests and meet legal obligations. We may send essential service messages. Marketing messages are sent only where permitted, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share information with
We use service providers where needed to run ShortMe, including hosting and infrastructure providers, Google Play for Android purchases, and Google AdMob for advertising on free accounts. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the service and its users.
Retention and security
We keep account and service data while your account is active and for the periods needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet legal, accounting or tax duties. Deleted data may remain in restricted backups and security logs for up to 90 days. We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect stored information.
Your choices and rights
You can review advertising consent choices from Account > Privacy choices when that option is required in your region. You can request access, correction, restriction, objection, portability or deletion of your personal data where applicable.
To delete your account and associated ShortMe data, use Account > Delete account in the mobile app or visit the account deletion page. Certain billing, tax, fraud-prevention and security records may be retained where legally required.
